I bought a friend's Vizio LCD flat screen HDTV from a friend today and it doesn't have a remote and the brightness is fully on. The model number is va26lhdtv10t. I searched online and tried to do it, but nothing came up on the screen. Does anyone know how to increase the brightness of a remote? When I first tried it, I just put the TV on the wall. Do I need to connect a DVD player or Direct TV to do this? Help. I'm thinking of ordering it remotely, but I don't want to wait to fix it yet.

I tried pressing the side menu and it went so low that I couldn't see anything happening so I guess I told it to press closer. For example, if I press Menu on W, what should I do to select and update? And how many times do I click Render until I reach Brightons?

Menu must be on TV. In the menu, it will be on screen or in general settings. No, you do not need to be logged in to fix this issue. I'm not sure if there is a menu, so the remote is probably necessary.
